Best of Both World's
is a charitable foundation with a mission to encourage appropriate
integration of international models of health and health care into
western health care systems. The foundation will promote activities
such as research, education, cultural exchanges, establishment of
databases and other forms of information storage, retrieval, and
exchange, and other activities related thereto. Comparative and
explorative evaluations of different systems of health care will
be promoted.
The foundation's
initial efforts will focus on sustaining WWW.ACUBRIEFS.COM
a comprehensive online database of references on acupuncture. By
making academic and clinical references pertinent to acupuncture
widely available, the proper integration of acupuncture into western
medical systems is facilitated.
The foundation
has been granted 501 (c)(3)tax exempt status (See
copy of exemption letter) and will be treated as a public charity.
As such all donations to the BBW foundation are treated as tax exempt
charitable donations. If you are interested at all in supporting
our efforts please e-mail us at BBW@Acubriefs.com or write us. You
may also call 360-379-5529 and ask for Peggy or leave a message
and she'll return the call. Credit card donations are gladly accepted.
If you have projects
that might meet our intended goals please contact us we'll see how
we might be of help.

Acubriefs
was established and generously supported by grants from the
Medical Acupuncture Research Foundation (MARF)and
the American Academy
of Medical Acupuncture (AAMA). Its purpose is to make available
online the most comprehensive database of references on acupuncture
in the English language. References on acupuncture in languages
other than English will be incorporated contingent on time and
resources. Helpful reviews, librarian service, and links are
readily available.

MARF
was founded in 1988 as a charitable, nonprofit organization
which served as the research arm of the American Academy of
Medical Acupuncture until the winter of 2004. After MARF was
disbanded as an ancillary foundation of the AAMA, the Best of
Both Worlds Foundation was established by James K. Rotchford,
MD, MPH, a past president of MARF. Through the Best of Both
Worlds Foundation, MARF's work can continue through the auspices
of an independent charitable foundation. The intent is to promote
all aspects of quality acupuncture research. This includes supporting
both clinicians and researchers involved in acupuncture research,
supporting the structure and organizations needed to foster
the research, and directly promoting the research. |
